Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Movies I love

For the love of all things good, I can't remember if I did this one already :) I've been busy all week rewriting certain parts of HOW LIAH MET ANA. The book was falling flat in the middle and I couldn't understand why. Then it came to me, my teen is not acting like a teen.

Exhibit A: A super cute older guy flirts with teen like crazy. She's never seen this kind of attention before, but now she's thin and gorgeous, so she's getting this attention. Does she:
a) say NO WAY and that she's waiting for her secret love, the guy next door who doesn't know she's alive, to notice her
b) make out with the guy and have a twinge of regret but no biggie

Um, I'll go with B for any normal hot-blooded teenager.
For more of this lively discussion, roll on over to Books, Boys, Buzz and see what all the talk is about on my post: Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll.

Now onto this weeks top 10: Top 10 movies I adore! I am going to be tag happy this week, my friends. I love hearing what movies my friends love:
  1. Breakfast at Tiffany's. I know I know, everyone says it's overhyped and slow and all that. But wow, what a flawed heroine. And the wardrobe! A girl and her cat find themselves. I love this movie and watch it every year.
  2. Million Dollar Baby. A lot of people hated this for it's religious and sad ending, but I love the story of a girl who would rather go out cheering. Plus Hillary Swank's million dollar boxing body? Wow.
  3. Under the Tuscan Sun: Girl gets gypped by guy, girl moves to Tuscany and buys villa, girl learns independence. I love it.
  4. Sabrina: Girl gets gypped by guy, girl moves to Paris (PARIS!!!!), girl moves back home and ditches him, having learned independence. Hmm, a theme perhaps? I wanted to be Sabrina Fairchild for years. And again, that wardrobe!
  5. Gone with the Wind. The book is way better than the movie, but I loved Vivian Leigh's Scarlett. That singly raised eyebrow, that accent. Was there ever a more memorable heroine?
  6. Gigi: Girl falls for older man who wants her as his mistress, and utters those magic words, "I'd rather be miserable with you than without you." Plus, Paris.
  7. Amelie: Girl falls for boy and secrets stalks him. Again, Paris. This was one of those modern fairy tales that I saw after everyone screeched and insisted it was "so me." They were right. I imagine this movie being the next generation's Breakfast at Tiffany's
  8. The Village: EVERYONE hated this movie, but I really liked it. Bryce Dallas Howard's acting combined with M. Night's writing...love them both and I really loved this movie. Plus, I've never seen Adrian Brody like that before :) His followup movie LADY IN THE WATER however....eh, pretty bad.
  9. How to Steal a Million: Yet another Audrey Hepburn movie...in Paris. Maybe I should just get a life. (or plane tickets to PARIS! Sigh) I love charming cat-burglar stories in general, so I roll this up with Thomas Crowne Affair
  10. Gladiator: Yes, ths is out of left field. No female heroine. No Paris....but Rome? That's in Europe. I really love this story. All the other copy-cats don't stand a chance...except maybe 300. Love that movie too.

Okay, waiting to hear you folks Top Ten Movies. And am going on a tagging spree :)
