ANA-LYNX-IA was an interesting book to write for me: it was the first one I plotted out completely before I started, the first where there was an extremely clear goal, motivation and conflict and most of all, a heroine who was alive to me from day one. No wonder it only took me about two months to write it. The topic (eating disorder) wasn't something I have first-hand experience with, but I did see several friends in HS go through the painful experience and I know what it does for someone's mental state.
I want that same writing magic to kick in as I start on my next set of books. A trilogy. The Montego Bay Sisters Trilogy will feature three sisters, Zephyr, Jade and Ivory Lahiri who are relocated from Montego Bay, Jamaica to New York City due to family conflict. A trip to the Carribbean might be in order to do some research into my girls and their background =)
I hear the Carribbean has the clearest water, the friendliest people and the best pina coladas in the world. I'm seriously thinking about booking a vacation to get my inspirational writer juices started.

The books are tentatively called Zephyr in the Sky, Jaded and Within the Ivory Tower. I am working out the three book proposal now and hopefully will be able to start writing by the end of the month. My agent and I are hammering out all the kinks before we submit the Trilogy to Kimani for (hopefully) 2009 release dates.
Happy Tuesday!

Dona,
That's wonderful news! :) Good luck with the trilogy. Have I mentioned that I miss you?
Steph~
ps- where's my review? Are you trying to kill me?
Fabulous news, Dona!! And I'd say you are more than deserving a, ahem, "research" trip to the Caribbean in celebration! :-)
Christina
Steph: review coming tomororrow... haha (that was supposed to be an evil laugh BTW)
Christina: I knew you would agree!
Yay, Dona!! How exciting.
Congratulations, Dona!
I love the premise of your new trilogy and can't wait to hear more about it! I've only been to the Caribbean on a cruise and would much rather have experienced it at a resort or two. It seemed to me like I was missing something very special by only seeing what the cruise tours were showing me.
Have fun researching the book!
